Our 64-year-old company seeks an Accounts Payable Associate. The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of accounts payable experience. In addition, the ideal candidate will have some formal accounting training and good interpersonal skills. The position is 30 hours per week and onsite. The hiring wage range is $22.00 to $24.00 per hour. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, responsibilities include:
Accounts Payable
- Ensure invoices, purchase orders, and packing slips are properly matched prior to entry into the accounting system.
- Enter invoices into the accounting system, ensuring proper account and job coding.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
- Ensure that invoices are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
- Prepare and perform weekly check runs.
- Maintain vendor information in accounting system and update as necessary.
- Process annual 1099 filings.
- Assist the accounting department with the annual audit process as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 1+ years in accounts payable processing experience
- Related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Excellent written, oral communication and people skills.
- Must have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to keep documents well organized.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- A high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs, especially excel.
