Our growing, 60-year-old company seeks a Junior Accountant. The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of general ledger accounting experience including journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable processing and month end close. The position is full-time and onsite. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, responsibilities include:
Accounts Payable
- Ensure invoices, purchase orders, and packing slips are properly matched prior to entry into the accounting system.
- Enter invoices into the accounting system, ensuring proper account and job coding.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
- Ensure that invoices are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
- Prepare and perform weekly check runs.
- Maintain vendor information in accounting system and update as necessary.
Month End Close
- Assist the accounting department with month-end close procedures.
- Perform month end reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare general ledger journal entries.
- Assist the accounting department with the annual audit process as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 1+ years of general ledger accounting experience.
- Related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Excellent written, oral communication and people skills.
- Must have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to keep documents well organized.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- A high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs, especially excel.
