Kine-Size

Kine-Size process - shaft design requirements

1.
Most of the commonly used steels and other ductile
metals are good materials for roll sizing.

2.  The Kine-Size process is best on parts up to Rc 40 in
    hardness.

3.
The mean initial shaft diameter is generally about 60
microns smaller than the final sized diameter.

4.  The typical shaft O.D. tolerance range prior to the
Kine-Size process is 50 microns.  This range is readily
achievable by turning or cold forming and is also avail-
able in cold drawn bar stock.

5.  The shaft surface prior to the Kine-Size process, should
have a finish of 1.6 microns or better, and be free of surface defects.
