The
above illustrates the range of tooth forms, lead angle,
number of leads and size currently
being produced with Kine-Form® dies, Kinefac tooling and
Kine-Roller® rolling machines.
For
the medical and instrumentation industries our users are
currently producing multi-part
actuator screws as small as one millimeter.
At the other end of the scale heavy machinery
manufacturers are using screws up to 50 mm with 4 mm
pitch. In the middle range millions of
seat adjuster lead screws are being produced on our MC-10
High Speed Kine-Rollerâ.
Depending
on the application, Kinefac can provide flank angles as
low as 12 degrees up to 45
degrees. Where the loads are uni- directional,
nonsymmetrical thread forms can be
provided. Lead accuracy is a function of lead angle, form
depth to diameter ratio, blank material
control and blank diameter precision.
For small diameter single start lead screws in the
300
series of stainless steel a lead tolerance of +/- 10
microns per 25 mm of length is readily
attainable.
Production
rates vary widely depending on machine size and lead
requirements. Currently
seat
adjuster actuator screws are being produced at 3.5 meters
per minute.
Kinefac
can provide its users with lead screw design support, as
well as extensive background in
lead screw and actuator's performance parameters.
In addition, it is not uncommon for Kinefac to
use the production dies to roll injection mold
pins for the mating nut.
Finally,
the Kinefac TD-21 Kine-Turnâ
Center Drive Lathe is used extensively for the production
of
lead screw and actuator blanks. |
